All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation
The All India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO) notes the recent military operation carried out by Indian armed forces targeting terrorist training camps across the border in Pakistan. We commend the professionalism and precision of the Indian forces in neutralising threats that endanger the lives of Indian citizens.
The targeting of terror infrastructure is a necessary step in safeguarding national security and maintaining internal peace.
AIPSO reiterates that the long-term solution to peace in South Asia lies in addressing the root causes of conflict. The destruction of terror camps is a setback to forces of violence. Lasting peace will require sustained efforts to dismantle the networks of extremism and their ideological backers.
We call upon Pakistan to take credible and verifiable action against terror groups operating from its soil and to cooperate fully in regional peace efforts. AIPSO urges the Government of India to continue its commitment to peace and diplomacy, even as it remains firm in defending the country against terrorist threats.
In this moment, AIPSO stands with the people of India in our collective desire for security, harmony, and peaceful coexistence. We call on peace movements, democratic forces, and civil society on both sides of the border to reject terrorism and communal hatred, and to work towards a future in South Asia that is free from violence.
Pakistan Peace and Solidarity Committee
The ongoing tensions, war hysteria, and militarization between India and Pakistan go against the interests of the peace-loving people of both countries. The Pakistan Peace and Solidarity Committee (PPSC) expresses deep concern over this situation.
In a joint statement, Mustafa Hasan Rajpar (Central General Secretary), Shafqat Alam and Rana Tajammul (Punjab), Shakeel Waheedullah (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Wali Muhammad Kasi (Balochistan), and Hussain Fatimi (Sindh) of PPSC has stated in joint statement that fueling war hysteria and escalating tensions into military conflict would be disastrous for both nations. As nuclear-armed states, both governments must act responsibly and begin negotiations for a peaceful resolution of the current crisis.
The statement also highlighted that millions of people in both countries live below the poverty line. They lack access to housing, employment, education, and healthcare. In such circumstances either through actual war or fear-mongering, spending billions on arms instead of providing the people with basic needs is a grave mistake and short sightedness. It may serve the interests of certain political or financial elites, but it will make life even harder for the majority. War will serve no nation. Both countries must urgently return to dialogue and find a peaceful solution through negotiations.
Awami Workers Party (Pakistan)
The central committee of the Awami Workers Party Pakistan (AWP) expressed deep concern over the recent escalating tension between Pakistan and India. The president of AWP Comrade Akhtar Hussain said in a press conference that the establishment of both countries is fuelling a war atmosphere against the interests of the people, which will further destabilize the region.
Comrade Hussain said that war frenzy and militancy only benefit the ruling classes and the establishment, while the common people have to bear the brunt of it. Wars are never limited, once started, it is not in your power to end the war.
He stressed that Pakistan and India should immediately take serious steps to reduce tensions and find a solution to the problems through dialogue. In this regard, the mediation of Iran and other neighbouring countries should be accepted immediately.
Comrade Akhtar Hussain added our party is of the view that for lasting peace in the region, both countries must make their foreign policies neutral and anti-imperialist, so that public interests can be prioritized. Becoming a proxy for any international power and fomenting aggression against neighbouring countries will not be an acceptable decision in any way. Both countries should learn from their past. The result of numerous wars and tensions has always been back-breaking inflation, poverty and backwardness for the people of both countries.
The Awami Workers Party has demanded that the leaderships of both countries avoid war narratives and take serious and positive steps for peace and stability in the region. Diplomatic and trade relations should be restored and all disputes should be resolved through mutual negotiations.
