Dr. Iman Hamad, an Associate Professor of Physiology at the University of Bahri-College of Medicine-Sudan is a committed human rights activist, especially for women’s rights. Member of the Sudanese Women’s Union. As an opponent of the former Islamic dictatorship regime, and a member of Sudanese Professionals Association, (SPA) – which played a key role in the December 2019 Revolution- she faced multiple arrests enduring over a month of detention and torture. Following the 2021 military takeover and renewed threats, she fled to the UK with her family before the war, continuing her advocacy for justice and equality.
