Statement by the Executive Committee of the Sudanese Women’s Union
To the Masses of the Sudanese People, To the Steadfast Sudanese Women,
What has happened and is happening in Al-Jazira state, particularly in the Al-Kenabi area and its surroundings, is undoubtedly a crime of ethnic cleansing. It is part of a series of war crimes and continuous violations that have not ceased since the war erupted until now. These practices are not coincidental but are rather a systematic and deliberate act carried out by all parties involved in the war. This war creates criminal and murderous militias every day, using their weapons against innocent civilians.
The goal of the current war is clear and obvious: to fragment the nation and its people, to subjugate them to foreign forces, to crush the December Revolution, and to re-establish the hated Islamic Movement regime.
We fully condemn the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the various warring parties. These crimes are documented with audio and visual evidence and cannot be denied. We call on human rights organizations and the international community to take serious action to stop these crimes, not just in words but in practice. We demand the establishment of specialized committees to investigate, uncover the facts, identify the criminals, and impose sanctions.
The main goal of the war is to eliminate the revolution and its living forces. In pursuit of this, the youth of the resistance and their committees are targeted through liquidation, arrest, and summary trials, as well as all citizens who have clearly expressed their rejection of the war and its sinister agenda. Just as they hoped to abort the revolution through the massacre at the General Command, the suppression of processions, and the killing of revolutionaries, they are now using the same methods during the war. However, the strength of the people is greater than their illusions and sick dreams.
We call on the masses of the Sudanese people to stand united as one front against the advocates of war and the instigators of strife. Sudan now calls on its loyal sons and daughters to free it from the conspiracies that threaten its existence as a sovereign state and target its noble people, diverse in colour, beliefs, and ideas. Its unity is now at stake. This war is against the people and the homeland.
We in the Women’s Union call on the masses of women, both inside and outside the country, to unite in a cohesive front that works with the rest of the national forces to stop the war, restore the path of the revolution and change, and punish the war criminals.
Mercy and forgiveness to the innocent martyrs of Al-Kenabi and to all the martyrs of the revolution who were killed in this cursed war. They are now waging their war on the bodies of women, terrifying civilians, and committing massacres. But in the end, victory belongs to the people and their revolution.
