We welcome the agreement to stop the aggression against our people and we emphasize the unity of the Palestinian national position
The Palestinian People’s Party has welcomed the agreement to stop the aggressive war against our people in Gaza, which puts an end to the continuing daily killing and genocide that has been going on for fifteen months.
The People’s Party stresses that stopping the genocide and destruction and ensuring the return of the displaced to their homes, in addition to the flow aid to our people throughout the Gaza, the release of thousands of prisoners and the withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza, is a vital and necessary matter for our people. It necessitates the unity of all its forces and factions in order to ensure the implementation of the agreement and the achievement of these goals. This is also essential to prevent the occupation from evading the obligations of the agreement as is its permanent habit, and from its persistence in aborting the aspirations of our people.
The People’s Party said in a press statement this evening that this agreement could not have been reached without the legendary resilience and steadfastness of our people and resistance in the Gaza, and their unity on the ground in confronting the aggression. This requires everyone to respect the blood of the martyrs, wounded, prisoners and displaced persons.
The People’s Party has reaffirmed the need to quickly unify the Palestinian political stance within the framework of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and to harness all energies for the sake of unity of will and work at all levels to confront the current challenges facing our people. It has stressed that the greatest challenge is our ability to overcome the repercussions of the aggressive war on our people and enhance their steadfastness, and confront the colonial occupation’s plans for displacement, annexation and expansion that target their identity, land and legitimate national rights.
The Palestinian People’s Party concluded its statement, saying: With this agreement, a huge political and diplomatic battle also opens up to continue bringing the war criminals to international courts, to ensure the end of the occupation and the independence of the State of Palestine with Jerusalem as its capital, and for the right of return of refugees in accordance with Resolution 194. As well as to ensure the unity of the Palestinian entity in the West Bank and Gaza Strip and to focus collective efforts to achieve this through a single Palestinian government under national consensus.
