Liberation and affiliate CODIR engaged with activists and senior figures at UCU’s annual Congress in Harrogate this week.
Among the visitors to our stall were Dr Jo Grady, General Secretary of UCU. Dr Grady spoke to Dr Liz Payne, member of Liberation’s education committee, and Jamshid Ahmadi, Liberation executive council member, about the impact of the disastrous US- Israeli war on Iran on higher education in the country.
The conference debated a motion on the war.
Shahenda Suleiman, Head of Higher Education section of UCU, also visited the stall, and was one of number who bought Liberation merchandise, thereby supporting our work and raising the profile of our organisation.
Liberation wishes to thank UCU for once again hosting us and their Congress and we look forward to developing a strengthening relationship with the union and its activists over time.
We thank Liz and Jamshid for representing Liberation during what was a very hot week!
