Liberation General Secretary

Following deliberations at a meeting of the Executive Committee of Liberation, it has been decided that Roger McKenzie will no longer remain in the role of Liberation’s General Secretary so as to enable him to pursue his other pressing commitments and engagements.

Circumstances have significantly changed since Mr. McKenzie was appointed to the role in August 2021.

These include his joining of the Morning Star newspaper, first as parliamentary reporter and then, last month, as International Editor – both of which are full-time roles.

Liberation thanks Mr. McKenzie for his work on behalf of the organisation over the past 14 months and wishes him the very best for the future.

Further information regarding the interim arrangements in respect of the vacant General Secretary role will be made known in due course.

Liberation, one of the UK’s oldest civil and human rights organisations, continues its work to organise, educate, and agitate against imperialism in all of its manifestations – as well as for peace, social justice, and human rights.
